| Social Life v/s Academics As with most people, I went off to college without any of my buddies from home. I've had an extremely hard time making friends, but really what has been bothering me is that I'm just not a happy person. How can I be a happy person when I'm a freshman in college who knows maybe one or two people here? Everyone else is having "fun" going to frat parties and such, but I'm not really into that. My family keeps inquiring about how I am doing in school and if I can "handle the work" but really, to me, that is a piece of cake compared to building some sort of group of friends. I just think it's ironic that when you go to a school with 20,000 people, it is SOO EASY to get totally isolated, and feel like a frickin hermit. It's also ironic that my classes are easy to me, because not having a social life is a bigger problem to me than studying and homework. What are your thought/experiences/opinions? TELL ME.. | |||||||||||||||

If you really try and make friends u will find out no matter what part of the world u r people r not very different from ur home country. Good luck! Till later,Jatti5abdi | |
