Request - AVI/DAT to DVD format convertor

Hi everyone,

Is there any software that can convert .avi files to DVD format? Well i know avi's are the compressed ones with the audio video quality not as good as dvd prints, but I need to burn the movies on a DVD ... so cudnt you please help me with this thing?
