Rep Power: 191 | suggestion - re: deletion/removal of posts by MODs A suggestion for fellow Moderators/Super-Moderators and Admin: I suggest that out of courtsey for fellow moderators and super-moderators, If any of us ever need to delete the post by another moderator or super moderator, we use the "delete" option only.. and not physically remove the post. What do you guys think..? Admin, do you think this is a good idea..? If so.. can it be made an official direction please..? | |

| Pyaar baant te chalo... | All moderators have already been told at the time of making them moderators that they shan't physically remove any threads... I was not aware whether "physically remove" option was available to moderators or not... will check; in the meantime, all moderators are requested not to delete any threads physically... The ADMIN is there to remove those deleted threads physically, after review | |

Rep Power: 191 | Re: suggestion - re: deletion/removal of posts by MODs I did not mean that we show courtesy only to the Moderators.. although it may have come out like that. Looking at the hierarchy of the site, Moderators obviously have the authority to delete the posts of members and senior members.. and they’ve been given the authority to decide whether a post is to stay or not. Deleting these posts make them invisible to normal users. Only MODs and Admin can view them. So whether or not you physically remove them (out of courtesy or otherwise) is not going to make any difference to normal users. Having a hierarchy also means that only a person higher in that hierarchy should make a decision about what should be done to a particular post. Being on the same level in the hierarchy means it is a bit rude for MODs to start physically removing each other’s posts. If we find something very offensive or inappropriate, it can be temporarily deleted and can then be physically removed by Admin if he deems necessary. I hope I made myself clear. Admin, I understand what you just said, however I was not talking about deleting threads altogether. I was talking about physically removing one-off posts that are offensive. I was never aware that moderators aren’t allowed to physically remove any posts at all. I’ve seen posts being physically removed and I have done the same on a couple of occasions. If we are not allowed to remove any posts at all, then I apologise for doing so. If that rule is only about deleting the whole threads.. then I think my suggestion might still be useful.
