TSUNAMI... what have you done to help..?

TSUNAMI.. One storm.. that shock the world..! more than 78,000 people have been confirmed dead in several different countries.. and hundreds of thousands are still missing. Several islands have been completely wiped completely. Worse still.. those who have survived are facing starvation, dehydration and several diseases that threaten their lives.

I can write thousands of words here and will still be unable to mention all the different ways in which this one storm has affected the people of this earth. The whole world is crying for help.. what have you done to help?

Please do not hold back.. be generous.. donate and encourage others to do the same. You can set up small donation funds at your work and encourage everyone to donate a little. That money can then be forwarded to different charity organisations involved in the process of providing assistance to those directly affected by the storm. They need billions of Rupees/Dollars to help these people.. your small donation can make a difference.

Tell us what you have done or are planning to do to help.. others can benefit from any good ideas you may have.

this is really a nice initiative taken by Sydenychamp.

Gud 22, this in itself will create awareness among others to do something.

As far as I am concerned I have donated some clothes and a blanket. our company has donated Rs 5 crore and we had a list of medicines which are required there so I will be contributing to get some of those medicines by the end of the day today.

there are thosands of dead-bodies still to be recovered, there is a shortage of polythene to wrap and take out bodies. So in my opinion what we can do is to help the survived lot by providing medicines, clothes, biscuits etc.

You can donate to Prime-minister Relief Fund or school/college guys can form a group and get the neede amount collected from their societies and can collectively sent it to one of affected areas taking help of their city Comissioner etc.......

Sydney its a nice thread nd hope will be useful.
I am posting the required things required there in the next post.
More details I will give you on monady as I will be leaving to nagapattna (Tamil-nadu) tomorrow.

One of the Chennai doctors involved in treating the victims at Nagapattinam has provided us with a list of medicines required urgently. We will be procuring the following medicines and sending them across by today evening or tomorrow morning:

I am initiating a relief fun here in Sydney.. It will work in different places that I can approach.. and will collect some money. I may not have the luxury to direct the money to one country (India for example) because I will have to give people here the details of one of the major organisations (Red Cross for example) where this money will be donated.

I however would like to send my personal share into the Indian Prime Minister’s National Relief fund. Somebody please give me the details of how I can donate through a phone call or over the net. I have checked PM’s official website. It does not help. PPS.. how did you guys donate to PM’s Relief Fund..??

bai ji, we have local intranet within the company and will pay the amount through that, which will be deucted fronm our salary.

Yeah good work yaar. As far as most of the people frm chd are concerned a lot of parties have been canceled and people are prefering to donate tht kinda money rather than wasting it on new years eve. So am i.I hope each 1 of us donates because each 1 of us can make a difference.

If you are doing something.. please say it.. I'm not asking to you speak up about it to boast about what good work you have done.. I'm asking you to speak up coz you never know.. that might encourage many others to donate..!

O 'n by the way.. I just heard that the total death toll has reached 120,000 and is rising.. That breaks my heart everytime I think about it.

good wrk u all guyz i had a big shock yesterday when rupy told me to chk the news i just cudn control on my eyes i really didn kno wht to do on the time after seen this all i had to go my doctor coz it wasn goin from my mind neway guyz here in uk even gore ppl opened so many charities for tsunami so i will b helping one charity from my wrk to get sum donation from all ppl livin in uk!!!!
