Internet Addiction & Education

Recently, I participated in a study by New York University students over effects of internet addiction on the education of college students. I was surprised to find that those who actually use internet for more than 4-5 hours a day tend to be more weaker in some of the subjects like science and mathematics. I was wondering if this is the same in India too. If anybody has done any research or study over this and wud like to share their findings than it would be a great help for some students.

Hmm... I don't know of any research done but I agree it's an addiction. I was addicted big time to it. And it did show in my results. But luckily it did not cost me much. My mother took away my computer and I did great on the finals

Now, I try to not let it get heavy on my studies. I don't agree with the math/science thing. I 'm kind of addicted to computer and I did great on mathematics....waiting for science result

my case is like j@tti............i have free internet 24/7 and my own laptop ........did i mention that it is DSL ..........plus i live in the dorms away from my parents so i am online almost the whole day................and yet i did great in both science and math.........straight As...........

i think its about balancing ur time............whenever i feel that i need to devote time to study, u wont find me online for 2-3 days...........but other days.........i finsh my study as soon as possible and then i am online a lotttttttttttttttt...........
