| Senior Member | 'Icchabal Te Doongian Shamaan' written by Bhai veer Singh Icchabal Te Doongian Shamaan This piece is written by Bhai Vir Singh and is a great lesson for all of us. Its a question and answer pair. Icchabal is the name or a stream/brook/river and doongian shamaan means dusk/late evening. So dusk asks Icchabal: Prashan: (Question) sanj hoi parchhaven chhip gaye, kyon icchabal tun jaari? nain sarodh kar rahi o-ven hi te turnon ve nahi haari, sailani te panchhi maali, hunn sab aaram vich aaye, sehm swadlaa chha reha saare te kudrat tik gayi saari. (its evening now and the shadows are hidding but why are you still flowing icchabal? your water is singing the same song and you are not tired yet The visitors/tourists, birds and Gardener/farmers have all gone to take rest Everywhere there is a blissful/sweet fear and the universe/nature has come to a stand still) uttar: (Answer) seenay khich jinaan ne khaadi oh kar aaram nahi behnde. nihon vaale nainan ki nindar oh dinay raat paye vehnde. iko lagan laggi layi jaandi hai tor anant o-nan di, vaslon uray mukam na koi, so chaal paye nit rehnde. (those who have a longing/love(a wish to do something) in their heart they don't sit and rest the eyes who long/love how can they sleep they flow/cry day and night one thing/desire in their mind that keeps them going their walk is unstopable they don't stop before they reach their destination so keep on going everyday) * I did the translation myself so if there is something wrong with it ... feel free to correct me * | |
