AFTER CLASS 12!(desperate4help)

hey everyone.
i just finished school!! (had humanities scored 79%)
and NOW WHAT!!
i am not one of those...I WANNA BE ...BLAH BLAH BLAH... people!
i m clueless as to what i wanna do.
so just for FUN... i gave the entrance for BA LLB 5yr thing in PU
but it was never something i thought i'd really do...was just maximizing my options!
n then ...i get a score of 79%...not worthy of a good college...like delhi n all u know (well i didnt even apply cuz my parents didnt want me to go anyway)
so suddenly i have nothing but BA LLB to pursue!!but....

okay so....right now i just have two options....
BA from a college (DAVC or SD) i have already chosen DAVC for some reason.
i decided against law (though i still can get into it...got a good rank)...cuz i didnt wanna study HISTORY POL SCI N SOCIOLOGY...
cuz
1. havent studied them in +1,+2
2. have no interest in them
so finally i decided i will do BA (eco hons) or maybe psycho...depends on how i do in the first year.

i went to DAVC yesterday for the admission. i didnt enjoy the atmosphere much. i saw the people around me in the line and thought...i deserve better!
but i submitted the fee anyway.

TODAY...someone told me how studying inside the campus is so different from a college. the crowd. the teachers. the whole atmosphere is more ....progressive inside PU!

it forced me to re-think bout my options.

i have no problems with being a lawyer. i can even quit after three years taking a BA degree.
but can studying in DAVC be that bad?
i m clear in my mind.i m not doing BA cuz i wanna fool around.
i m fed up of being a mediocre!!
and i plan to diligently pursue whatever i take up.
only if i knew what that is!!

I-do I say you go for Law, and not BA. If you really know that u dont wana end up wid a BA then go for law. You will have many opporunities with that degree. In india u can compete for the best of civil service jobs, and if u end up in abroad trust me lawyers make enough money to afford every luxury for their families. and abt wat u said u never took psychology, socio in 11th and 12th, those courses arent that hard to follow, they must be easy. Rest is wat u really wanna do...and that u dont know...just sit down for a while and talk to urself about the kinda stuff u like and stuff u dotn like, and then think about wat u can do with a BA from DVCS and with a Law degree from PU. Sometimes the name and reputation of ur acedemic institution can play a major role in ur education. And we only acdemically get education once in life, then why not get it from a better place if u are getting a chance? Thats wat i think, what do u say?

BA (eco) will not be of much help to you, iu have to gor post graduation nd resarch if u wanna do sumthing gud.

u have so many options now a days.

1. While doing graduation BA (eco) start preparing for Civil services, Defence Services.
2. You can pursue BA LLB nd can take it as a career later on.
3. If u r artistic nd interested u can join NIFD for fashion desiging/interior designing.
4. If u r bit adventurous nd not fearful of stage, u can go for BA (mass commun ication & journalism).

My dear frnd opportunities are endless, just make up ur mind wat u wanna do. Every field needs bit of hard work nd common-sense, just make up ur mind nd hold any one career, don't run after 2 or 3. The earlier u decide better it will be.

1) From personal experience, I find that the institution and the crowd is not always what makes or breaks a great personality. I studied in very ordinary government schools in Punjab. If you read my educational history, you'd assume me to be a pure pendu who knew little about the world (that'll be what most people will think about govt. schools). But your view of me would be quite ironic if you knew me personally. Ask any old LC memeber if you don't believe me..!

2) I personally think that LLB will give you a definite career choice than completing a degree (such as BA) and then wondering what I wanna do. Then again, if I was you and was really confident of my abilities, I'd complete a degree and go for bigger and better things such as IAS/IPS/PCS etc than being another lawyer/liar. Having said that.. you can go for IAS etc even after LLB, so I guess that's a better option than BA coz LLB will give you a choice of going for IAS/IPS etc and have a safety net of a lawyer's job if you didn't make it there.

3) It's easy for anyone to suggest what you should do. But don't forget that it's you who'll have to finally work in the field you choose. In India.. you generally get only one chance to choose what you want to do in life. So make sure whatever path you choose is something you like to do. It's not use being in a profession where you make a hell lot of money but don't like doing what you do.

That's weird..! anyway.. I added the poll before I read this msg of yours. So sorry about doing that. I tried deleting the poll but it appears that I don't have the power to delete it. Yes I agree..! never had an issue with now allowing polls in all the sections. The point I wanted to make.. and I think some other memeber mentioned was that the poll/thread could just be moved to appropriate section rather than deleting the poll.
