~Shold Lovechandigarh Allow Religiously Controversial Posts~

Hi ! Guys,
My dear friend Ranjii ( viper_jatt) has been making some posts about Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale on lc for the past couple of days .
What do you guys ( administration & moderation staff ) think about it .

1. Should we allow viper_jatt to carry on posting such stuff ?

2. Should we cancell his id / nick from the forum ?

3. Should we carry on deleting controversial stuff posted by him ?

4. Would it be within the ambit of law to allow such posts in lc ?

Note: Admins & mods I would appreciate your views on this . For one I dont think that banning his id / nick will help us solve the prob . He can always log in with another id / nick .

I don't support the idea of banning. I personally don't mind discussing such issues, but things can get real messy. There is no fine boundary between controversial and non controversial issues. It depends on how you look at things. I 'm not very keen on discussing such issues either, because most of us are not matured enough to handle such topics, we have witnessed it in the past. So, I guess instead of banning anyone just send them an email explaining why we don't approve of such topics. If we can give good enough reasons to our users, I 'm sure they won't feel offended either.

I will say that we cant let people post on religious stuff bcoz they can get really serious...we have tried that b4 and lot of people had fights on those threads...so i dont think its a good idea for us/or ne other memebr to post on religious subjects...we can talk to him about it that he cant do that and we can tell him da reasons too that why we r not letting him post religious stuff...i think he will support this idea too...n u r right we cant ban his id....waiting for everyone's reply

Oh Yarr siddi g gal aa... Samjh taan lagdi ni kuj ohnu.... Right from the first post of his abt bhindarnwala (wutever), Mast Veer has been telling him that we are basically love & dating site.. hor hun ohnu kiwen samjhayiye!!!!

And yeah why just lovechandigarh???? He says he goes to other forums too and ours is not the only one!!! Fer uthe jaake post karde!!! Ohnu v tan thand ni paindi aithe post na kare bina!!! See now it means that he is just not listening to wutever Mast Veer tells him!!!!

The other day i read abt post mortem report of bhindrawala!!! Holy Shit man What d ******** Hell!! Wuts the point in posting his post mortem report.!! See wut I am trying to say is that Its even a port mortem report that he has posted!! This shows how much crazy he is abt bhindranwala!! lol well i can Assure ya that if we dont take any steps now, we gonna get hell lotta controversial stuff from him in future.. Who knows may be after a while he starts talking abt Bhaniaare wala babba!!

"Soft delete" any post you think is controversial or may provoke controversy in future.

I request 99.9 and other fellow admins to PM or talk to Dhillon about the concerns n problems rather than talking to ADMIN. These days ADMIN is very busy with the parent company, A88 Solutions, but he still manages to take some time out of his busy schedule to come to LoveChandigarh. Lets not increase his work load for the time being. So that is why I request everyone to talk to Dhillon first and then to ADMIN, as Dhillon may be able to listen to us sooner.

If ye ask meh guys, honestly speaking , in mah view we should totally ban religious discussions on our LC . We allowed a few people to post some posts relating religion which encouraged otha fellows to do the same.

Lets make oue LC a place fer love and relations, no a battlefield or a field of controversies.

I like to hear about religions, their fundamentals, history and mythology. The controversial posts are post on the forum by few immature people. Most of us are mature enough to accept and respect others’ beliefs.
So just remove and/or edit the controversial post before the controversy grows in magnitude.

I agree with Dhillon on this. I love a good discussion about religion, history, culture, language etc. and believe that religious content can be managed by keeping the controversial posts away. That however is the tricky part..! like anything else, the definition of the word controversial is different for everyone.. even our Moderators and Admin staff don't always agree on what should be allowed and what shouldn't.

Yeah, that's what I said before too, what might seem fine to us could be offensive to other people. There is no fine boundary line between controversial and non-controversial threads. And yeah MSc don't use abusive words , it can be very offensive to some. 'soft' delete is way to go, but many users find that offensive too. So, I would suggest if you soft delete someone's post let him know and ask him to edit or wait till admin goes over it.
