A bit of difference in personality is good for any relationship. It creates room for some learning and mental development for both partners. If both the partners were exactly the same, the relationship will probably become very boring. Having said that, being brought up in different cultures and/or countries creates a huge gap between the two partners. It is easy to say that love caves the path for everything else, but imagine having to explain everything you do to your partner.. there’ll be a question tagged to everything you do or say. It might not be so difficult in those cases where both are born and/or brought up in the same country/environment. I’ve seen many examples of an Indian marrying a westerner, including one of my closest mates here in Australia.. and majority of them don’t work. In most cases, the lack of commitment and dedication was least of their problems. Finally, I don’t believe that marriage is the marriage of two persons. I think that with a wedding, two families get married.. new relationships start. The two persons getting married might have the patience and understanding to make it work, but the two families might not. Also, your partner might be able to understand you, but might fail to understand your family..! That is bound to cause problems.. especially in our Indian families where the parents and families are so close and important to both the guy and the gal even after marriage. Communication is another problem. If I was to marry a gal from here (Sydney), I’ll be able to communicate with her perfectly, but my parents won’t. Then why would I want a wife who can’t even have a descent conversation with my family..? Waheguru Ang Sang Sahayi Balraj Singh | Well thanku for this, but some western gals will have the inclination to communicate with ur parents by learning ur language of course where there is a will there is a way u know. In my opinion it can work if all are willing to participate n love each other. once again thanku i realy appreciate u taking the time. Bless ya | | |
